Counseling and Support
Quit by Phone
Our counselors — nurses, respiratory therapists, and tobacco-cessation specialists — help you take stock of your addiction and create a personalized quit plan. You’ll have your own personal Quitline counselor who will guide you through weekly sessions scheduled at a time best for you.
Because Quitline counselors are nurses and respiratory therapists, they are qualified to offer guidance in lung, cardiovascular, and other smoking-related health issues. ITQL offers up to six weeks of free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) to enrolled clients who are over 18 years of age, medically eligible (i.e., not pregnant, no heart conditions), and uninsured or on Medicaid.

"The Quit Line is a great place to start and end up a non-smoker. Do it for your kids and grandkids!"
"After a week nicotine leaves your body. After that it’s the “going through the motions” like the first time of not smoking in your car, after a meal, morning coffee, etc. That was the toughest part. I’m going on 2 years now – after smoking for 40."
